Hardscape blocks trenching
Paver patios, concrete walks, decorative gravel — anything that would have to be torn up to apply a continuous liquid barrier. Sentricon® stations install around hardscape.
Sentricon® is the only termite product engineered to eliminate a subterranean colony — including the egg-laying queen — instead of merely repelling foragers. Sold only to Certified Sentricon® Specialists (we are one), installed in calibrated in-ground stations around the perimeter, monitored on an annual contract that keeps the warranty active for the life of the property. Visit Pompano Termite Control for the company background.
Every termite control product made before Sentricon® either killed termites on contact or drove them somewhere else. Sentricon® was the first to do something different: weaponize the colony’s own social biology against itself.
The active ingredient is noviflumuron — a benzoylurea insect growth regulator. Worker termites locate the bait in the in-ground station, consume the cellulose matrix, and bring it back to the colony. Through trophallaxis (mouth-to-mouth food sharing, central to termite social structure), the noviflumuron spreads to every member of the colony within days.
Noviflumuron does not kill termites by poisoning them. It prevents them from molting. Termite exoskeletons must be shed regularly to allow growth — and worker termites that cannot molt die of dehydration and starvation within the rigid old cuticle. Once the worker class collapses, the queen and soldiers have no one to feed them, and the entire colony follows within weeks. Independent UF/IFAS studies have documented full colony elimination — including the queen — within two to six months of confirmed feeding.
Sentricon® is the only termite product with peer-reviewed evidence of colony elimination, not just colony suppression.
Original Sentricon (1995) used a wood monitor in the station — termites had to find the wood first, then the technician swapped the wood for a noviflumuron cartridge on the next visit. The protocol worked, but it built in a several-month delay before active bait was deployed.
Sentricon® Always Active (2010) eliminated that delay. Every station ships with the noviflumuron cartridge already inside, treated and ready. Termites that find the station get baited on contact — no manual swap, no months-of-lag between detection and treatment. That is the version we install.
If you’re shopping competitive quotes and the contractor still uses the older monitoring-first version, ask why. It’s typically a cost optimization on their side, not yours.

Invasive super-termites build secondary above-ground colonies that liquid barriers miss. Sentricon® goes to the foragers and through them to the queen.
Termidor® HE peaks at 10-year residual. Sentricon® warranty stays in force for the life of the property as long as monitoring is renewed.
Below-grade bait stations expose nothing above the soil line. No liquid runoff into beds, ponds, or pet runs.
Sentricon® warranties transfer to new owners at no cost. National chains charge $150–$300 transfer fees.
A property that has been treated twice already with liquid barriers and is still seeing activity is a candidate for Sentricon® plus liquid in combination.
Foundation walked, total linear feet measured, obstacles (AC pads, planters, hardscape) noted. Station count calculated at ~10-foot spacing.
Cordless auger drills 8-inch deep cylindrical holes around the perimeter at the spec spacing. Concrete penetrations get a pilot bore.
Always Active cartridges loaded into the locking station housings. Stations seated flush with finished grade; lids GPS-tagged for the warranty log.
Installation report, station map, and Corteva-backed warranty bond delivered to the homeowner. First quarterly monitoring scheduled.
The yearly monitoring fee ($280–$350 in Pompano Beach) is one of the most misunderstood line items in pest control. It is not a fee for the privilege of keeping a product you already paid for. It is the warranty itself — and three things it covers:
Stop paying the fee, and within 12–18 months the cartridges degrade, monitoring stops, and the warranty voids. We will not pressure you to renew — but we will be plain that an unmonitored Sentricon® perimeter is no different from no perimeter at all.

In-ground stations at ten-foot intervals around the perimeter, loaded with noviflumuron — an insect growth regulator that prevents termites from molting. Workers feed, share via trophallaxis, fail to molt, colony collapses including the queen. Full elimination in 2–6 months of confirmed feeding.
Installation $1,200–$3,800 depending on linear feet. Annual monitoring $280–$350. Average 1,800 sq ft home: ~$1,800 install + $295/year monitoring.
2–6 months from confirmed feeding. Million-worker Formosan colonies take longer than 60,000-worker native subterraneans. Documented at every quarterly inspection.
Different tools. Sentricon® eliminates the colony including queen, lifetime warranty with monitoring. Termidor® HE provides a 10-year residual barrier and works faster against perimeter foragers. For native subterraneans, either works. For Formosan/Asian subterraneans we run both in combination.
Warranty terminates and station cartridges degrade over 12–18 months. An unmonitored Sentricon® perimeter provides no protection. The monitoring fee is the warranty.
No. Stations seat flush with finished grade — they sit at the soil surface and the lids are barely visible. Lawn mowers and edgers pass over them without issue.
No. Sentricon® is sold only to Certified Sentricon® Specialists by Corteva Agriscience. The home product sold at hardware stores is a non-Sentricon® bait system that does not carry the colony elimination claim or the lifetime warranty.
Inspector confirms subterranean activity, measures the perimeter, and quotes the station count and annual monitoring fee in writing. No upsell on stations you don’t need.
