Avondale sits west of Federal Highway in the older inland Pompano street grid. Construction-era spans roughly 1942 through 1965, with the bulk of the housing stock built between 1948 and 1958 in the post-war housing boom. Lots are small, setbacks are tight, and many homes have been remodeled internally but retain original framing, original window sash, and original eave details.

Inspection pattern in Avondale: roughly half of the homes we inspect show active drywood evidence in attic or fascia. The other half show evidence of previous activity with no record of subsequent inspection — meaning a treatment occurred years ago but the warranty lapsed and no one re-inspected. Either case ends with the same recommendation: get on an annual inspection contract, even if treatment is not currently needed.

• Drywood — high. Original 1940s-50s wood framing carries active galleries. Fascia, soffit returns, and window sill undersides are the gallery hotspots.
