Palm Aire · Tier 2 response

Termite control in Palm Aire — where irrigated turf and a century-old ficus canopy create perfect subterranean habitat.

Palm Aire is the resort-and-golf community on Pompano’s northwest edge — manicured fairways, mature live-oak and ficus canopy, and irrigated landscape beds against every foundation. The same conditions that keep Palm Aire greens picture-perfect also create the highest sustained subterranean termite pressure in the city, plus documented Formosan activity in the older sections’ tree canopy. Sentricon® Always Active is our standard recommendation here. Call (954) 545-2464.

About this neighborhood

Palm Aire was developed as a destination golf community starting in the 1970s. The original villa and patio-home stock dates from 1972 to 1990, with the high-rise condo towers along Palm Aire Drive added through the 1980s and 90s. Newer single-family construction continues on the perimeter lots.

Two characteristics define Palm Aire’s termite profile: year-round irrigation that keeps soil moisture above 18% on most lots, and a 40-year-old live-oak and ficus canopy that hosts both native subterranean and Formosan colonies. The combination makes Palm Aire the busiest Sentricon® installation neighborhood in our service area.

Termite risk profile

  • Native subterranean — very high. Irrigated turf right against the foundation perimeter creates a moisture pathway native subterraneans cannot resist. Mud tubes on patio block walls are routine.
  • Formosan — high. Mature ficus and live oak along the older Palm Aire interior streets harbor established Formosan colonies. Carton material in adjacent villa walls is documented.
  • Asian subterranean — possible. Within the 4-mile spread radius from confirmed Asian subterranean sites in Fort Lauderdale and Lighthouse Point. Worth specific ID on every inspection.
  • Drywood — low to moderate. Newer construction era reduces drywood risk vs Old Pompano; some activity in 1970s villas that have not been treated.

Why Sentricon® is the default here

Palm Aire properties typically have decorative pavers, patio extensions, screened cages, and golf-course-facing hardscape that blocks continuous Termidor® HE trenching. Sentricon® Always Active stations install around the obstacles and provide colony elimination for subterranean and Formosan colonies alike. The annual monitoring contract integrates with HOA-managed properties and transfers freely on resale.
