Skip to contentHighlands sits on Pompano Beach’s elevated inland ridge — single-family ranch and CBS construction from the 1960s through 1980s, set under one of the city’s densest ficus and live-oak canopies. The elevation does nothing to reduce termite pressure; if anything, the mature canopy makes Highlands one of the higher-Formosan-risk neighborhoods we cover. Tier 2 next-day inspection. Call (954) 545-2464.
Highlands is a long-established single-family neighborhood characterized by slightly elevated topography, larger lots than the typical Pompano Beach mid-century plat, and a mature tree canopy that includes mature ficus, live oak, and royal palm. Construction era spans the late 1950s through the 1980s with steady infill since.
The mature canopy is the operative termite factor. Where Old Pompano’s drywood story is about the framing inside the house, Highlands’ subterranean story is about the trees in the yard. Multiple Highlands trees have tested positive for Formosan colonies in UF/IFAS sampling, and adjacent structures show carton material at the same rate.
